Years as an educator and mentor have provided a unique point-of-view. Hearing the cries and triumphs in thousands of poems over the years created empathy for those young souls putting pen to paper.
Young poets pour out their souls in order to let the world know that they too have thoughts and emotions. Oftentimes, their voices are muted by the very ones who are charged with giving them support and validation. This is to let every young voice know that someone is listening.
